The first award recognizes Bogotá as South America’s Leading Business Travel Destination, surpassing other nominated cities such as Buenos Aires, Lima, Medellín, Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo.
For the fifth consecutive year, Bogotá was recognized as South America’s Leading Business Travel Destination, confirming its status as a preferred city for business travelers, corporate meetings, and MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions).
El Dorado: South America’s Leading Airport
Bogotá’s El Dorado International Airport was awarded South America’s Leading Airport, standing out as:
- The top air cargo hub in Ibero-America
- The third busiest airport in South America for passenger traffic
- A key international hub due to its strategic location in the center of the continent, facilitating global connections
El Dorado also boasts 300 shops and restaurants, including 40 Colombian brands, promoting local entrepreneurship. This makes it not just a vital connection point but also a space that fosters inclusivity, diversity, and economic growth.

Hotel BOG: South America’s Leading Design Hotel
Located in La Cabrera, one of Bogotá’s most exclusive areas, Hotel BOG was awarded South America’s Leading Design Hotel, surpassing competitors like Hotel Atix (Bolivia), Hotel B (Peru), and Hotel Unique (Brazil).
The hotel is inspired by Colombian gold and emeralds, featuring 55 luxurious rooms and is a top choice for international business travelers seeking accommodation near Bogotá’s financial and entertainment districts.
Guillermo Arias led the architectural design, while Portuguese designer Nini Andrade Silva, one of Europe’s most renowned hotel designers, was in charge of the interiors.
“These prestigious Tourism Oscars awards prove that Bogotá is an attractive city due to its hotel infrastructure, convention centers, business facilities, and an increasingly diverse tourism offering that appeals to both national and international travelers,” said Andrés Santamaría, director of Bogotá’s Tourism Institute (IDT).
