The award, presented during the opening of the Bogotá stand at the ANATO Tourism Showcase, reflects the reviews and opinions of travelers from around the world who have discovered Bogotá as a city rich in history, culture, and nature. It also underscores the collaborative efforts of all tourism sector players who have helped establish the capital as an unmissable destination.
“This achievement reaffirms the potential of ‘Bogotá, My City, My Home’ as a city that captivates visitors. Its cultural, gastronomic, and natural wealth, combined with the warmth of its people, has positioned it as a rising star in global tourism,” said Andrés Santamaria, director of the Bogotá Tourism Institute (IDT).
The recognition was officially handed over by Tatiana Páez, Senior Principal Client Partner at TripAdvisor, to Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán, in an event that celebrated the city’s tourism growth and its impact on Bogotá’s economy and international presence.
“We recognize destinations that receive the highest quantity and quality of reviews, thanks to the hard work of the entire tourism value chain. That’s why Bogotá has been awarded on a global scale—an achievement that fills us with pride and motivates us to continue promoting excellence in tourism,” said Páez.
The Mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán emphasized the importance of this award, stating: “This recognition comes from those who have visited Bogotá, reflecting the strength and impact of its tourism value chain—one of its greatest assets.”
He also reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the city continues to benefit from tourism:
“As an administration, we want to highlight the growth of tourism in Bogotá and support it so that the city continues to expand its gastronomic and cultural offerings,” he added.
