The President of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Ilan Goldfajn, visited the facilities of 'La Rolita', the city's first public transport operator with 100% electric buses, to learn about the gender equality and clean mobility strategies promoted in Bogotá.
During the tour, he spoke with several operators who have been working at 'La Rolita' for the past 9 months, as well as a group of women undergoing training to obtain the required driver's license and join the company.
He also visited the maintenance area, where he spoke with Angie Velandia, the coordinator of this department, who explained to him the functioning of the buses and their contribution to environmental care.

He expressed his satisfaction to learn that the company has an urban garden, which was cultivated together with children from the community, and praised it as an example to follow in environmental matters.
"This project is fantastic because it promotes gender equality in all areas of the organization and clean mobility," he said, highlighting Bogotá's commitment to inclusion, especially in the transportation sector.

The IDB has been supporting this project since 2021, providing international cooperation resources for the reclassification of driving licenses for several of these women.
During the visit, which was attended by Acting Mayor Felipe Jiménez, La Rolita Manager Carolina Martínez Cuellar, TransMilenio Manager Orlando Santiago, Metro Risk Manager Ricardo Cárdenas, and Advisor to Mayor Felipe Morales, among others, a video call was made to Mayor Claudia López, who was congratulated for this initiative, which becomes an example to follow in the region.
At the end of the visit, the Manager of 'La Rolita' thanked him for the support, which currently has 254 women behind the wheel, and reiterated their commitment to continue expanding opportunities for more women.
