The Bogota Institute of Tourism (IDT) has launched VisitBogota.co, an innovative digital platform showcasing the magnificent tourism offerings of the Colombian capital to all tourists.

The launch took place at the "Colombia, the country of beauty" booth, organized by ProColombia at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR2024) in Madrid, Spain. Simultaneously, at Bogota's El Dorado International Airport, a promotional video was released for tourists and residents alike.

Visitbogota.co is a proposal that will boost Bogota as a preferred tourist destination for both national and international visitors, providing easy and practical access to detailed information about places to enjoy, cultural events, gastronomy, accommodations, attractions, activities, events, transportation, hotels, and other infrastructure and services available to tourists coming to experience the magic of Bogota.

Bogota's participation in FITUR, led by the director of the Bogota Institute of Tourism, Andrés Santamaría, and the launch of this new platform, demonstrate the Mayor's Office of Bogota's commitment to innovation and global tourism promotion. The main goal is to enhance the tourist experience for visitors and residents while promoting responsible and sustainable tourism in the city.

"Bogota didn't have a platform like this; we are doing this within the first 100 days of positive change for the city under Mayor Carlos Fernando Galan (…) We are very pleased because we are positioning Bogota in tourism matters," expressed the IDT director.

Here's a related post from IDT regarding their participation in #FITUR2024:

Another piece of good news for the city during its participation in FITUR was the recognition by Spain's State Representative Platform for People with Physical Disabilities (PREDIF) of the IDT for the work done in promoting accessible tourism. This effort has been adopted across different spaces, attractions, services, and products in the tourism sector.

Among the actions taken by the entity to promote accessible tourism is the creation of the Accessible Tourism Network with adapted tours and experiences, as well as providing information on accessibility criteria for tourist attractions through @tur4all. These actions have succeeded in removing access barriers, attracting more tourists to enjoy Bogota.
