Mayor Claudia López will conduct an international agenda for three days in which she will attend a series of meetings and events in New York City (United States).
The main objective will be to attend the High-Level Meeting of the UN General Assembly to review the implementation of the New Urban Agenda, to be held on April 28. At this event, the Mayor will share her vision for the future of Bogotá with the United Nations. This vision is centered on caring for people, the planet, and democracy, as well as the Colombian capital's commitment to the 2030 Agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the New Urban Agenda.

On April 27, Mayor López will also participate in the third World Assembly convened by the Global Task Forceof Local Governments, where the implementation of the New Urban Agenda and the innovations being implemented by cities will be reviewed.
The meeting will be attended by nearly 30 mayors and local government representatives from five continents, including the Mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau; the Mayor of Montevideo, Carolina Cosse; the Governor of Antioquia, Aníbal Gaviria; and the Mayor of Sala, Carola Gunnarsson; among others.
Mayor López will also participate, along with the Mayor of Quito, Santiago Guarderas Izquierdo; the Mayor of Banjul, Rohey Malick Lowe; and the Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Seri Mahadi Che Ngah, in a panel organized by UN-Habitat Ecuador to address the implementation of the New Urban Agenda together with care management.
Following this event, Mayor López has been invited to speak at a meeting organized by UN-Habitat, focused on the work and experience of cities led by women, to share a reflection on the construction of a fair, green, and egalitarian urban society.
Following these meetings, she will also speak about mixed migration flows in Bogotá at a roundtable with regional leaders coordinated by UN-Habitat Colombia.
Bogotá’s representative will also attend the opening of the 100th session of the Regional Plan Association (RPA) with the association's president and CEO, Thomas K. Wright. This organization works to develop projects to improve the economic and environmental conditions as well as the quality of life of the inhabitants of the metropolitan area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
At this meeting, the Mayor will share Bogotá’s experience and the progress made with the regional mobility model as a tool to respond to climate change and promote social development.
On the same day, a meeting will be held with the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP), coordinated by its Director General, Heather Thompson, to present Bogotá's commitment to the Clean Multimodal Mobility Plan and the Land Use Plan.
On April 29, she will participate in a bilateral meeting with the Mayors Migration Council (MMC), accompanied by its executive director, Vittoria Zanuso, to discuss possible collaborations between this organization and Bogotá for the mobilization of financial and technical resources.
On the same day, a meeting is scheduled with Amson Sibanda, chief of the United Nations National Strategies and Capacity Building Branch (NSCBB) for the Sustainable Development Goals, in order to share the vision of the Bogotá Development Plan, the Land Management Plan, the Climate Action Plan, and the Local Voluntary Report as public policy instruments that are shaping and giving form to the 2030 Agenda in Bogotá.
