The Mayors' Forum on Urban Nature and Biodiversity meeting served to reaffirm the commitment to urban nature and biodiversity, and for mayors to call for increased funding for this purpose. Carlos Fernando Galán added that local governments need spaces and direct financing to fulfill environmental commitments, and cities must raise their voices to open the discussion on how projects are financed from the international to the subnational level, and to advance the fulfillment of agreements reached in forums such as COP16.
