In a recent report in El País called 'Rap filarmónico: del Bronx de Bogotá al teatro' (“Philharmonic Rap: From Bogotá’s Bronx to the Theatre”), the renowned Spanish newspaper praises the musical projects being carried out in the Bronx Distrito Creativo, focused on mixing local rap with the sounds of the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra.
The article explains the details of the socio-cultural philharmonic rap projects in the Bronx Creative District with the support of the Gilberto Alzate Avendaño Foundation (FUGA) and under the direction of renowned musician Francisco Zumaqué, composer of the emblematic song 'Colombia Caribe'.
"What I saw when I approached this process was some young people who come from a socially complex situation and who, with great resilience, have been able to overcome this and are doing well, not only in the musical terms but also when it comes to developing enterprises," said maestro Zumaqué to the Spanish media outlet.

Additionally, the perspective of urban artists, such as the rapper Phanton Killa -belonging to the Candelaria Cartel Club collective- and Juanlo (Juan López) who are part of the project is shared. The latter is one of the newest faces on the scene at the age of 16 and is a beneficiary of the District Institute for the Protection of Children and Youth.
"I thought it was going to be scary, but I felt supported by the teacher and the musicians and it flowed well. This gives us more strength," Juanlo told the newspaper, adding that he intends to share "a little faith and hope with the people" through his song lyrics.
