This was confirmed by the Director of the District Institute of Tourism (IDT), Andrés Santamaría, during the fourth edition of the Cotelco campaign "Stay in Bogotá and Discover It."
"My responsibility is to ensure that Bogotá offers dynamic, innovative, and high-quality tourism that attracts more visitors, thereby increasing spending and boosting the city's economy," he stated.
Community Tourism as a Pillar of Development
Community tourism is emerging as one of the most significant new destinations in Bogotá. Currently, a network of 15 collectives in the upper part of Ciudad Bolívar offers a wide range of cultural and gastronomic activities, where visitors can explore La Cuadra del Color, Alameda del Parque Illimani, and the Museo de la Ciudad Autoconstruida.
Culinary and Cultural Attractions
Another destination capturing attention is the Corabastos Market, the second-largest market square in Latin America. This vibrant market, operating 24/7, features 5,000 commercial outlets, including restaurants serving traditional Colombian cuisine, that allows tourists to immerse themselves in Bogotá's rich culinary heritage.
For art and culture enthusiasts, the San Felipe Creative District and the Expanded Graffiti District are must-see stops.
