In a state-led trade mission, headed by the Ministry of Transportation and the National Infrastructure Agency, Invest in Bogota, Corporation for Development and Productivity - Bogota Region will participate in InnoTrans, the leading international trade fair for transport technology, held biennially in Berlin, reaching its fourteenth edition this year.

Delegated by Mayor Carlos Fernando Galán, the corporation will support the Bogotá Metro Company (EMB) in its search for companies interested in investing in urban equipment and Metro stations. Meanwhile, the Cundinamarca Mobility Secretary will seek investors for key rail projects, including the North and West Regiotram.

“The involvement of Invest in Bogota in this event stems from the current administration's development plans in both Bogotá and Cundinamarca, focusing on enhancing the rail system. This includes the city’s Metro and its integration with the region," explained Isabella Muñoz, Executive Director of Invest in Bogotá.

In this regard, she highlighted the focus on securing funding for the extension of Bogotá Metro’s Line 1, connecting with real estate companies and station management specialists, leveraging commercial and real estate opportunities, and acquiring cutting-edge technology for future rail project tenders.

The agency will jointly attend meetings with rail operators, engineering consultants, technology developers, train and rolling stock builders, and investors. A visit to the Berlin Metro operations center is also scheduled, along with participation in the Latin American Railway Symposium, set for this Monday as a side event to the fair.

InnoTrans will run until September 27, featuring five trade sectors: railway technology, railway infrastructure, public transport, interiors, and tunnel construction, across 42 pavilions at the Berlin exhibition grounds. It's worth noting that the 2022 fair hosted over 2,771 exhibitors from 56 countries and 137,403 visitors from 137 countries.
